It’s peak ice cream season in Vancouver (that’s totally a thing, right?) but if we can all just hold out a little longer, we are finally going to get to enjoy the French-inspired dreaminess that is La Glace.

The ice cream parlour has been in the works for what seems like forever–at least in dessert years (also, please let us think that’s a thing).
We first heard about La Glace in 2015, when their flavour experiments were tantalizing our treat-buds on Instagram, and they were popping up at events around town. Honey Green Tea. Lemon Tart. Coconut Crème. Lavender Latte. Yes, please.
But now they’ve finally got a permanent space, and it’s an absolute beauty.
La Glace, which opens August 4, is an ice cream parlour and “salon de thé” serving hand-crafted French method ice cream and pastries. Located at West 16th and Macdonald, this sweet little shop is perfectly set up to make your sugary dreams come true.
You’ll find everything from ice cream and sorbet in cups and cones (including vegan options), as well as ice cream concoctions like parfaits topped with fruit and house-made marshmallows and meringues.
La Glace’s founder, Mark Tagulao, is also a pastry chef, so you’ll see more of his creations in the form of goodies like cookies, macarons, and profiteroles.
The whole shop itself is perfectly set up for an immersive chic treat experience. Decorated in a style that bridges Art Nouveau and Art Deco, you’ll find stunning design highlights like a curved bar, custom banquette seating, and hand-painted gold-leafed mural featuring La Glace’s peacock motif. There’s brass, marble, and cool mint to feast your eyes on while you’re feasting on your ice cream.
La Glace Ice Cream will be open Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 10 pm.
Address: 2785 West 16th Avenue
