If you’ve ever wondered how to grow and sell medical marijuana, you’re now in luck – Kwantlen Polytechnic University will offer two online courses that will teach you to do just that.

The courses launch in September and are seven weeks long each. Students enrolled in them can expect to learn about producing marijuana, legalities and regulations, medical conditions, and marketing and sales.

“Medical marijuana is in the news every day, and it’s an evolving industry that’s growing very rapidly. KPU is certainly blazing a trail in terms of helping people navigate the business and professional landscape of managing medical marijuana in Canada,” said Jim Pelton, executive director of continuing and professional studies at Kwantlen.

The two courses were developed with the help of the Canadian National Medical Marijuana Association.

“Working closely with industry leaders on course material has ensured students will receive accurate information on this highly regulated industry,” said Deepak Anand, Executive Director for CNMMA.

“With its extensive understanding of the medical marijuana industry, the CNMMA readily agreed to help facilitate the curriculum development for the course, the first of its kind in Canada.”

The courses come with a rather hefty price tag at $1,250 each – that’s $2,500 for the full deal.

The “Plant Production and Facility Management” and “Marketing, Sales and Drug Development” courses are going to be taught by Anand and Tegan Adams with Experchem Laboratories.
