Missha’s Time Revolution Night Repair is often said to be a dupe for Esteé Lauder’s Night Repair Serum. This ampoule (aka serum) is packed with nutrients like fermented Bifida, Lactobacillus, and Lactococcus (fermented ingredients are big in Korea), which promise to boost your skin’s natural defence barrier with vitamin B12 and peptides.

This sun block not only provides invisible protection with an SPF of 50 (dermatologists recommend you wear at least SPF 30 on a daily basis), it genuinely smells like mangoes. Try not to eat this while you apply it, it’ll be tough.

Yes, you read that right – this skincare set contains snail slime as the key ingredient. People in Korea have been using snail slime – or snail mucin, if you will – as a reparative ingredient in their lotions and potions for years, and now North Americans are finally catching on. This skincare set includes a toner and an emulsion (similar to a serum, but more watery), but H-Mart also sells the moisturizing cream.

Missha Magic Cushion

Another quintessential Korean beauty product is cushion bb creams and foundations. So what is that, you ask? Usually a light coverage product contained in a sponge-like cushion. Flip open the compact, press your hydro puff into the cushion, and pat all over your face for a smooth, dewey finish. Missha’s Magic Cushion contains an SPF of 50 and contains bamboo water and baobab extract. The only downside? Missha has a very limited shade range.

If Korea is known for just one skincare item, it’s sheet masks. H-Mart carries hundreds of them across brands like Missha, Tonymoly, Leader, and many others. The Tonymoly masks will give you the best bang for your buck, however – you can buy six of them for $10, and there’s one to satisfy every skincare issue. Simply place the sheet on your face, wait 20 minutes, and revel in your skin’s fresh glow.

Galactomyces is, by some accounts, a dupe for the extremely pricey SK-II Facial Treatment Essence (around $130 CAD for 150 ML) and contains fermented yeast to soften and brighten skin. It’s watery and light and is meant to be applied before serum. Simply add a few drops in the palm of your hand and gently press it into the skin.
