Christmas and shopping are meant to be – especially on West 4th Avenue.
The West 4th Business Improvement Association (BIA) is hosting its annual Kitsmas event from November 24 to December 24. The event is designed to make holiday shopping a little merrier, with holiday decorations and valet parking.
Mistletoe adorns the front of every shop along the street – which means you and your significant other will have a lot more fun shopping for gifts this year. You can also spend some time by the Christmas tree on the corner of Burrard and West 4th, soaking in the holiday magic.
If you’re bringing kids with you, or you have some of that childish spirit inside you, you can mail a letter to Santa in any one of the six red mailboxes located along the street. It’s a direct route to the North Pole, and West 4th will handle the postage.
But perhaps the best part of Kitsmas, especially in a city of crazy parking fees, is its free valet parking. Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday until December 24, you’ll get two hours of free parking without having to find it yourself. Plus, some drivers will get a gift to enjoy while they shop.
Instead of paying for parking, the West 4th BIA is asking that you give a donation of any amount for Canuck Place, so someone else’s Christmas can be a little brighter.
Kitsmas is made for Christmas, and the West 4th BIA wants you to truly enjoy it – not just with free parking, but with a $500 shopping spree. When you tag any of your Kitsmas photos with #KITSMAS until December 24, you’ll be entered to win the shopping spree – which is one way to wish everyone a very merry Christmas.
