Motorcyclist dies after being hit by car in Kitsilano on Wednesday

A 39-year-old motorcyclist has died after being hit by a car in Vancouver’s Kitsilano neighbourhood on Wednesday morning.

Just after 7 am, the man, who was riding south on MacDonald Street, collided with a blue Audi that was making a left turn on West Broadway.

The motorcyclist was rushed to hospital but died from his injuries later in the day.

The driver and passenger in the Audi were not physically hurt.

Now, the VPD Collision Investigation Unit is working to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The incident is Vancouver’s first fatal crash of 2017.
