The beach had been closed on Monday, after water from the beach over the threshold for safe and acceptable bacteria levels.
One sample taken at Kitsilano Beach had 1,723 E.coli/100 ml.
The Canadian Recreational Water Quality Guidelines recommend a level of less than 200 E.coli bacteria per 100 mL of water for swimming.
More information on bacteria levels, as well as up-to-date information on the status of Vancouver’s beaches, can be found on Vancouver Coastal Health’s website.
