You won't want to miss the new wedding show in Kitsilano

If you’re planning a wedding, everything can start to look the same – especially if you’re engulfed in magazines and big budget wedding shows.

The Kits Wedding Show is holding its first ever show on January 21. It will feature 24 local vendors, each selected for their commitment to budget-conscious urban brides.

There are only one or two vendors for every bridal need at the show, so when you’re looking at wedding planners, caterers, cake partners, and entertainment options, you’ll know what you’re seeing is the best Vancouver has to offer.

At the show you’ll be able to taste test edible confections, try on specially discounted dresses, and speak with potential vendors one-on-one.

Community hall/Kits Wedding Show

The show is being held in the Kits House Community Hall, a former rustic church that’s been refurbished as a non-profit and community space.

The venue is available for couples to rent, and at the show you’ll be able to get a personal tour of the entire space. The hall is quaint with a rustic charm, but located in the midst of a bustling urban area – plus, by renting the hall you’ll be supporting the Kitsilano Neighbourhood House, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing social services and programs to all Westside community members, with a particular focus on those most vulnerable.

Rental packages for the venue start at just $600, but one lucky bride could win a rental package worth $2,250. The package includes a rental of the hall for 12 hours, an extra three hours the night before to set up, use of the Bride’s Room, use of the commercial kitchen for caterers, rentals of the tables and chairs, full use of the kitchenette, and all the LED lighting and sound system.
