King George Station Redevelopment

Dec 19 2017, 1:12 pm

Many Vancouverites will probably never venture out this far but our readers from the Valley and especially Whalley will appreciate the fact that King George Station may finally be redeveloped. If you remember a few years ago an outlandish proposal containing a casino and the regions largest tower was proposed for this site. Despite what Mayor Watts will have you believe, we all knew Surrey’s “downtown” couldn’t support that.

Touted as a landmark mixed use development set to anchor the slowly evolving downtown of Surrey. The proposal contains approximately 300,000 square feet of retail space an additional 300,000 square feet of A’ class office space and up to 3, 35 storey residential towers. This is welcome news to an area of the region that desperately needs some rejuvenation.

No dates for construction have been set yet, but PCI is behind this development so I would expect this project to proceed soon.
