Hastings Racecourse will be hosting a Kentucky Derby viewing party this Saturday, May 7.
The Kentucky Derby is the first race of the Triple Crown and is considered to be the most popular horse race in North America.
This year, the horse currently favoured to win, Nyquist, is being ridden by jockey Mario Gutierrez, who used to call Hastings Race Course home until his 2012 move to California.
Now Hastings Racecourse is expecting their largest Kentucky Derby viewing audience to date because of the Vancouver connection.
So dress up in your finest clothes (big hats are a must), grab a mint julep, and place your bets this Saturday as you watch the Kentucky Derby – also known as The Run for the Roses – at Hastings Racecourse.
