Experience three days jam-packed with adrenaline pumping sports, sandy beaches, bikinis, and some of the biggest names in EDM, hip hop, and live music.

This year’s Monster Energy Center of Gravity in Kelowna will continue its reputation as Canada’s hottest beach festival by serving up the best in both sports and music entertainment. Taking place from July 8 to 10, the event makes for the perfect opportunity to enjoy yourself in a high energy environment.

We’ve compiled a list of seven reasons why this year’s Center of Gravity sports and music festival is worth checking out.

1. The headliners

This year’s festival is showcasing famous headliners you can experience all in one place. Attendees will soak up some of the biggest hits from Grammy Award winner Skrillex, Dutch DJ/producer Afrojack, and hip-hop legend Ice Cube. Speaking of music, this year’s lineup will feature some of the world’s greatest musical acts paired with the incredible backdrop of the Okanagan Lake.

2. The beachfront setting

Experience the shores of Okanagan Lake and Kelowna’s City Park. You’ll quickly understand why this lake is a B.C. favourite.

3. After parties

The festival grounds will close, but that doesn’t mean the party has to end. Let loose, dance like no one’s watching, and make some new friends at multiple after parties. Choose from a variety of exciting options each night and enjoy a mix of different genres.

4. Adrenaline pumping sports

Watch your favourite sports while enjoying some sick beats in the background. Watch former and future Olympians play beach volleyball for their chance to win a total prize pool of $11,500. Catch some intense games at the Hoop Zone with some of the best basketball players in the country battling in a full court tournament.

Get your heart beating even faster with the festival’s extreme sports, including Canada’s best freestyle motocross riders. The Urban Zone will showcase some of the Okanagan’s best BMX riders and skateboarders, slated to hit features like rails, quarter pipes, 30′ half pipes, and more. Challenge yourself at the Adrenaline Zone to practice your freestyle aerial skills, or simply jump onto its massive smooshy bag for fun. For more information, check out Center of Gravity online.

5. Exclusive accommodation options

Don’t let your budget stop you from fitting in some quality shut-eye time. Center of Gravity has teamed up with Meetingmax to offer attendees preferred hotel rates that are unavailable to the general public – just search for reservations online to find the best deals available. Also for those who’d like to save money is the option of accessing the UBCO dorms for only $54 per night. You can also share a double queen room at Kelowna’s Fairfield Inn & Suites by purchasing a Center of Gravity hotel package online. Alternatively, consider an ultimate outdoors adventure by booking a campsite online.

6. Convenient transportation

Drivers can search for ride share options that are soon to be posted online. If you’re looking to skip the drive to the festival, you can find affordable options online. Skip the cab fare in Kelowna by using the festival’s awesome Shuttle Program for safe transportation to and from the festival site, after parties, highway hotels, and UBCO dorms.
