Karmavore made a big announcement this month by transitioning from a retail store into a café and dessert lounge. The main floor of the all-vegan specialty shop has changed into a bistro which offers a wider variety of menu items such as a quinoa burger, smoothies and shakes, a breaded chik’n caesar among many other mouth watering dishes.
Karmavore Café and Dessert Lounge bakes all their goodies in-house, from scratch and are all vegan and mostly organic. The vegan dessert lounge is the first of its kind in Vancouver and is open every night till 9 p.m. so you can get your sweet tooth satisfied with croissant bombs, blueberry pie and tiramisu. They also offer soft serve ice cream and milkshakes! All vegan of course!
Salim Jamal, the owner says, “We are serving up the largest and most unique selection of 100% vegan desserts in Vancouver, all made from scratch, in-house,” says owner Salim Jamal. “Our newest creation is the ‘Wizard’ – our dairy-free soft serve blended with our in-house peanut butter bars and topped with coconut whip and toffee nut syrup.”

Karmavore has also entered into another exciting venture. They are part of a group sponsored by The Salient Group/Renie Marketing who is providing rent and marketing support and River Market, who started this program back in 2012.
They opened up Tiny Karmavore which serves fresh juices, house made wraps, salads and other grab-and-go items. Not only are the items healthy and convenient but they are also served in packaging that is biodegradable.

Karmavore is a vegan owned and operated company. They are located in New Westminster which is under 30 minutes away from Vancouver and conveniently located just a few short blocks from the New Westminster Skytrain Station. They not only won the Most Green Conscious Retailer in 2011 but also have raised almost $20,000 for animal charities.
Karmavore Café and Dessert Lounge is located at 610 Columbia Street in New Westminster. They are open Monday to Sunday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Tiny Karmavore is located in the River Market’s food court at 107-810 Quayside Drive in New Westminster. They are open Monday to Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
