Justin Bieber says he was never present at a hotel where an anonymous woman says she was sexually assaulted by him back in 2014.

According to screenshots from a now-deleted Twitter account, a woman who identifies herself only as Danielle said she was sexually assaulted in Bieber’s Four Seasons hotel room after being invited to meet him after an event in Austin, Texas.

The two allegedly began with kissing, but Bieber did not stop when the woman brought up her concerns about Selena Gomez, Bieber’s girlfriend at the time, and expressed her wish to leave.

On Sunday night, Bieber addressed the allegations on Twitter, saying he was never at the Four Season hotel and only arrived in the city late at night on the day the woman says the assault took place.

“Rumors are rumors but sexual abuse is something I don’t take lightly,” Bieber said. “I wanted to speak out right away but out of respect to so many victims who deal with these issues daily I wanted to make sure I gathered the facts before I made any statement.”

Bieber acknowledged he did a surprise performance at the SXSW Festival in Austin, where Danielle alleges the pair met. Bieber said he brought then-girlfriend Gomez with him.

Bieber also showed receipts for his AirBnB and Westin hotel room from when he was in Austin in March 2014, saying it would be impossible for him to have sexually assaulted anyone at a different hotel.

He also suggested Danielle could have said the assault happened at the Four Seasons because a fan tweeted that she thought she saw him there.

Bieber finished by saying all sexual assault allegations should be taken seriously.
