J.T. Miller was one of the most talented players to ever wear a Vancouver Canucks sweater.
But, he said it himself Tuesday morning at Rogers Arena: the conclusion to his time in Vancouver wasn’t pretty.
There were certainly some complicated moments for Miller in Vancouver, highlighted, of course, by the way he left the city via trade.
Those complicated feelings towards Miller were reflected by a mixed reaction from Canucks fans when the New York Rangers visited Rogers Arena on Tuesday night.
When Miller first touched the puck in the opening frame, he was showered with an audible number of boos from Canucks fans.

However, it didn’t take long for fans to change their tune.
During the first television timeout, a tribute video was played for Miller in front of the crowd at Rogers Arena.
The video brought the crowd to their feet, with most fans paying their respects to the man who broke out as an NHL star with the Canucks.

Miller saluted the fans as they cheered him on.
Despite his unceremonious exit, Miller finished his Canucks career with an astounding 1.08 points-per-game. That ranks second in franchise history, behind only Pavel Bure (1.12 points-per-game).
Pretty good for a player who was largely considered a second-liner before joining the Canucks in 2019.
Miller finished 11th overall in Canucks history with 437 points in 404 games. He was just passed by Brock Boeser on Sunday during the Canucks 4-3 overtime win over the Edmonton Oilers.
