The Vancouver Whitecaps announced today that American defender Jay DeMerit has become their first MLS signing. The 30year old center back who has European league and world cup experience looks to be a key signing, especially when re-building a new team.
DeMerit played 5 yrs for Watford FC in the English Championship League (League 1). Jay was also in the USA team that got knocked out by Ghana in the World Cup.
