Jamie Dornan to play Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that actor and model Jamie Dornan will play Christian Grey for the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey, which starts filming in Vancouver this November.

Jamie Dornan is no stranger to Vancouver. The Irish actor recently played Sheriff Graham in Once Upon A Time, which films out in Steveston and other Vancouver locations.

His involvement in the film replaces Charlie Hunnam, who was originally cast in the role until he dropped out ten days ago due to pressure from fans of the erotic novel. Other actors who were considered for taking on the role of bondage-loving Grey reportedly included Ryan Gosling, Garrett Hedlund, Shailene Woodley, and Scott Eastwood.

Production for Fifty Shades of Grey will take place at North Shore Studios.
