Did you hear the collective awwww’s around the world? During last night’s 88th Academy Awards in Los Angeles, a 9-year-old actor from Vancouver repeatedly stole the spotlight with his cuteness.
Jacob Tremblay, who starred in 2015’s Room, joined Beasts of No Nation’s Abraham Attah in presenting the Oscar award for ‘Best Live Action Short Film’. For his role in Room, Tremblay has won at least six awards from various organizations, including ‘Best Young Actor’ in the Critics’ Choice Awards in January 2016.
As he was one of the shortest presenters in Academy Award history, host Chris Rock gave the boy a big boost by carrying out wooden boxes for him to stand on. “Thanks, Chris! Loved you in Madagascar!” said Tremblay as Rock left the stage. “He’s the zebra, he’s a good person!”
