Island Pets Aquarium and Services is under new management and they are promising exciting changes to the aquatic pet and reptile industry.

With two locations in the Lower Mainland, about 6000 sq ft of retail space and 5000 gallons of display aquariums per store, they are the largest aquatic pet and reptile specialty store in BC. From small table top aquariums from Fluval, Marina and biOrb to furniture pieces like the Red Sea Max S, Fluval Reef & Fresh lines and Cleair acrylic tanks there is a variety to choose from.

You won’t find a better place to bring your kids and see rare aquatic specimens like stingrays, piranhas, fly-river turtles, eels or a HUGE shark aquarium. They do weekly feedings, every Saturday at 2pm, where you can witness a morray eel and shark circle the 2000 gallon tank waiting for their food.

With a constant supply of ever changing livestock, you won’t see the same things every time you walk through their doors. They are constantly importing fish from all over the world and have new shipments coming in every week. You will find amazing looking guppies, bettas, platys, mollys, goldfishand a variety of species to meet anyone’s demand. If you are looking for more of the non traditional aquatic pets you will find them here as well with items like stingrays, flowerhorns, arowanas, wolf fish and a colorful selection of lobsters and shrimps. The saltwater selection is also something to be amazed about with a collection of colorful fish, invertebrates and coral. Ask a staff member and they will teach you how to easily setup and maintain a saltwater tank, which was once relegated to hardcore hobbyists.

Not to be outdone the reptile section is getting a huge revamp where you can go and hold snakes, bearded dragons, geckos and a variety of other reptiles. All the reptiles are amazingly friendly and all you have to do is ask a staff member to let you hold them and they will gladly oblige.

If you are looking for a unique tank they also do custom tank designs and maintenance. A project they are working on is a custom jellyfish tank for a customer and two separate tanks with a tube connecting them so the fish can swim through. Maintenance is done by an experienced staff member that will have you enjoying your fish and not have to worry about anything else.
