Traffic on Highway 1 through Vancouver, North Vancouver, and Burnaby is heavier than normal this morning because of a crash mid-span on the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge.
Crews cleared the crash from the roadway by 8 am, but it will still take time for the backed up traffic to move along, according to DriveBC.
“Expect major delays as the congestion clears,” the agency tweeted.

The bridge connects East Vancouver with North Vancouver, and is the only roadway to the North Shore from the city besides the Lions Gate Bridge.
