ION Magazine celebrates its 8th year by taking art, fashion, music, and culture to its second pop-up shop for the month of May in Vancouver’s Mt. Pleasant neighborhood (in the same location as the Hamburger Disco pop up shop on Kingsway and 10th avenue).
If you had a chance to swing by the first ION POP SHOP that was in collaboration with ArtWalk and the City of Vancouver during the 2010 Winter Olympics, then you know what’s in store. Opening at 196 Kingsway at 10th Avenue on May 3, version 2.0 will be along the same lines showcasing local designers and artists within its in-store gallery art space.
Along with art, the ION POP SHOP will carry select vinyl from local musicians, accessories by larry. and Love Medals, t-shirts by Revolt, Some Product, and ION’s own line Limited Edit[ION], which is an extension of the magazine that focuses on collaborative projects with its creative community of photographers, illustrators, and artists creating cool products that reflect the culture of the magazine.
And just like last time, you never know who might come down to play some tunes like friends of ION, Alonzo Wang, Stefana Fratila, The Good News and Babe Rainbow did at the first ION POP SHOP.
The ION POP SHOP is part of the Rize Alliance POP-UP RETAIL Initiative to celebrate and support local businesses.
