The Drive Canteen and Dicky’s Dumps team up for a one-day-only Instant Noodle Bar Pop-Up

It’s officially comfort food season, so the timing for this pop-up couldn’t be better. Vancouver’s getting a one-day-only instant ramen pop-up.

Brought to us by small-batch Chinese dumpling purveyor Dicky’s Dumps and The Drive Canteen, this slurp-worthy event is taking place on Saturday, October 28, from 5 pm to 9 pm.

Folks who head to 1111 Commercial Drive destination on this date can expect two instant noodle varieties.

First up, The HK Classic by Dicky’s Dumps. This creation features toppings such as Dicky’s Dumps (choice of pork, chicken, or veg), fresh greens, and SPAM or Euro Wiener.

From there, it’s garnished with scallions, crispy shallots, and chili oil.

The second offering, Doug’s Tseng Noodles, comes with Dry Tseng Scallions and Szechuan Oil noodles tossed with a choice of Dicky’s Dumps (pork, chicken, or veg), scallions cilantro, crispy shallots, pickled ginger, and onions.

Guests can add a fried egg to both of these bowls if they’re feeling it, too.

Noodles can be made into combos with select beverages from The Drive Canteen as well.

We’re told an exclusive, limited-edition RIBENA slush/screamer will be up for order.

“Doug and Lindsey have been huge supporters of our brand – we’ve been selling our dumplings out of The Drive Canteen for the last few years,” says Dickson Li, who co-owns Dicky’s Dumps with Pearl Lam.

“They’ve also been stocking some amazing instant noodles in their shop recently. Pearl and I love noods! So we thought, why not do a noods pop-up together? But, ‘Can-teen-ese’ style as we’re both originally from Hong Kong.”
