The popular photo-sharing social media platform Instagram went down briefly late Monday, stressing out many users, many who flocked to Twitter to confirm the news.
The cause of the outage is still not known.
By 4:30 pm PT, a popular outage website showed more than 6,000 reports of the service being down.
More than two-thirds of the reports (68%) said the mobile app wasn’t working, and 14% said the website was down. Two per cent of users said they couldn’t login, and 4% said the newsfeed wasn’t updating or working.
Users in Canada, the US, New Zealand, India, Turkey, Hungary, the Philippines and Australia all reported issues.
Most service issues appeared to have been resolved within a half hour.
