Il Giardino, the popular Italian restaurant that set the bar for fine Italian dining nearly four decades ago, will be closing April 13, 2013.
The restaurant, operated by Umberto Menghi, has been an institution on Pacific and Hornby. Although he will close this one down, Menghi will continue to run his two Whistler restaurants, Il Caminetto and Trattoria di Umberto.
The closure will make way for a new condo development expected to contain 244 units.
