IKEA Richmond is selling $25 Christmas trees and helping to support Tree Canada at the same time.

Trees will be available from November 23 to 28 between 11:30 am and 8 pm, or while supplies last. Trees can be purchased from any IKEA cashier at checkout.

Once purchased, the tree can be picked up onsite at the IKEA Richmond Christmas tree lot. Partial proceeds from tree sales will be directed to Tree Canada.

Customers purchasing a Christmas tree will also receive a $25 coupon to IKEA that can be used between December 26, 2020, and February 28, 2021, on purchases over $100.

Trees Canada is the only national non-profit organization dedicated to planting and nurturing trees in rural ad urban environments.

“Through our programs, research and educational efforts, we have helped restore tree cover in areas hit by natural disasters, guided communities in managing their urban forests, helped green 660 schoolyards and organized urban forest conferences,” the organization says on its website.

To date, through work with community partners and sponsors, Tree Canada has planted more than 82 million trees.
