Vancouver’s Hyatt Regency is celebrating the 25th year of their Gingerbread Lane display, showcasing creative gingerbread houses and structures whisked together by high school students, professionals and amateur culinary artists from around Vancouver.

The charitable event raises funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and has so far raised $75,000 over the last 24 years. It’s always a popular event year after year, and this time around organizers are saying it will be the biggest and best yet.

“I am honoured to be a part of Gingerbread Lane’s 25th Anniversary,” says Lance Marrin, General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Vancouver. “This year’s display is sure to be one of our best as we take a journey through the past 24 years of this wonderful holiday tradition. Please come share the history with us and help our Make-A-Wish BC & Yukon partners at the same time. Let’s all do our part to make a child’s dream come true.”

Hyatt Executive Chef Jeff Szombaty’s centerpiece attraction is yet to be revealed, but includes 500 pounds of gingerbread, 400 pounds of icing sugar and 1,400 egg whites.

Donations are collected when you vote for your favourite gingerbread house on display, so head down to the Hyatt Regency and file your ballot.
