How to watch Vancouver Canucks’ first preseason game in Seattle tonight

Sep 21 2025, 5:28 pm

The Vancouver Canucks are opening their preseason tonight with a road game against the Seattle Kraken, but it won’t be televised.

Fans wanting to get their first taste of Canucks action will not be able to find the game on their TV guide. Instead, the game will be streamed for free on the Canucks website.

Fans will also be able to listen to the action on Sportsnet 650 radio with Brendan Batchelor and Randip Janda on the call.

Top prospects Tom Willander and Braeden Cootes will make their debuts with the Canucks tonight, along with veterans like Filip Chytil, Teddy Blueger, and Kiefer Sherwood. Other notable names in action tonight include Jonathan Lekkerimäki, Nils Höglander, Drew O’Connor, Elias Pettersson (D), and Victor Mancini.

Canucks stars Brock Boeser, Elias Pettersson (F), Quinn Hughes, and Thatcher Demko will be sitting this one out. Fans will have to wait at least one more game to see Evander Kane’s Vancouver debut as well.

Prospects Nikita Tolopilo and Ty Young will be the goaltenders suiting up for the game.

This is the first game of Vancouver’s six-game preseason schedule. The Canucks will return to B.C. for a game in Abbotsford against the Calgary Flames on Wednesday. They will then make their way back to Rogers Arena on Friday for a rematch against the Kraken.

Vancouver’s regular season is set to open on Oct. 9 with a home game against the Flames.

Last season, the Canucks finished off their preseason with a 3-2-1 record, which included a 3-1 victory against the Kraken to kick things off. Vancouver will be looking for a repeat of that result tonight.

Puck drop for tonight’s preseason matchup is set for 5 p.m. PDT.
