You can stream Abbotsford Canucks games but here's how much it costs

The Abbotsford Canucks begin the Calder Cup Final against the Charlotte Checkers this week.

It’s Abbotsford’s first-ever trip to the AHL championship series, beginning with a pair of road games in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Friday and Sunday. The series shifts back to Abbotsford for Game 3 (June 15), Game 4 (June 17), and Game 5 (June 21).

If necessary, the two teams will return to the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte for Game 6 (June 23) and Game 7 (June 25).

None of the games will be televised on either of Canada’s all-sports television stations, meaning that the only option is to stream the games online.

And it’s not cheap.

FloHockey has exclusive broadcast rights and offers streaming on a $39.99 monthly plan or $203.88 for an annual subscription. With an annual subscription, fans will receive the ability to stream 20,000+ games, including AHL, ECHL, and college hockey. Both monthly and annual plans include full-game replays and highlights, as well as real-time game and player data.

It’s actually cheaper to stream Vancouver Canucks games than Abbotsford Canucks games, as Sportsnet charges $24.99 a month. FloHockey’s $39.99 monthly cost is double what TSN or DAZN charge its customers for sports programming.

Given how the bandwagon is filling up for the Abbotsford Canucks, expect a number of diehard fans to buck up.

Because they’re certainly bucking up for tickets.

Tickets are flying fast for the games in Abbotsford, and they’re selling for a pretty penny. Few seats remain on Ticketmaster since they went on sale Monday morning.

Demand for tickets is so great, the Canucks appear to have increased prices since yesterday, with the cheapest seat now going for $80. The most expensive ticket is $168.

Those are quite a bit more expensive than the tickets available in Charlotte, where just US$37.05 will get you in the door.
