Fall is well and truly upon us. The sun isn’t quite as blue as it used to be and instead of shorts, you’re pulling on a sweater. So it’s time to warm yourself up with the ten hottest arts shows in Vancouver this November.
Whether you want to see fresh long-form improv or a musical/burlesque parody of a beloved dinosaur movie, a Shakespearian classic or an operetta set in a dog park; there’s something for everyone this November.
Little Mountain Improv
This new weekly night of improv features some amazing local talent including Kelli Ogmundson, Christine Bortolin, Shane Mclean, Shawn Norman, Rachel Smith, Ember Konopaki, Nima Gholamipour and Tim Carlson. Every Tuesday night they perform fresh longform improv with special guests.

Jurassic Parody: The Musical

Standing Room Only Theatre presents the Shakespeare classic, Macbeth this November. The tragedy is chock full of vicious fight choreography with a contemporary twist on the classic tragedy.

Snapshots: A Musical Scrapbook
This beloved musical is returning to Vancouver after its successful run last year. Snapshots is full of music by Stephen Shwartz (Pippin, Wicked, Disney) and explores a couple looking back at their relationship.

The North Plan
Presented by Upintheair Theatre, this is the Canadian premiere of this dark political comedy by Jason Wells. The North Plan is a dark take on dystopia and has an eery relevance to how the U.S. government works today, inspired by actual events.

The Incompleat Folksinger is based on the novel of the same name by Pete Seeger who was not only a singer but also a political activist.

52 Pick-Up
Twenty Something Theatre presents 52 Pick-up, a show that is guaranteed to never be performed the same way twice. At the top of the show, the performers throw 52 cards up into the air with scene titles on it which determines the order of the show.

The Music of Junk!
The Music of Junk was a hit at the 2014 Fringe Festival and has been re-ivented to be presented at the Waterfront Theatre. This musical is family friendly and encourages the audience to find create music by using the everyday objects.

Death in a Dumpster: The Musical
Death in a Dumpster is a project that challenges Vancouverites to take action against the growing number of homeless Vancouver youth. This play is written, directed and performed by street-involved, homeless and marginalized youth and tells the story of Danny as he travels from the Maritimes to find his mother.
