
Thermometer readings across the South Coast are expected to soar this week following the much-needed, recent period of cool and wet weather.
Environment Canada is forecasting sunny, hot weather for Metro Vancouver this week: Temperatures will begin to rise on Wednesday, with an inland high of 28°C. And by the weekend, temperatures could reach as much as 31°C inland.

It will be even warmer in Abbotsford, Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton, where the fire risk is greatest. Highs of over 30°C are in the forecast.
Over the past weekend, 31.3 mm of rain was recorded at Environment Canada’s weather station at Coal Harbour in Downtown Vancouver.
No precipitation is expected this coming week. Residents in Metro Vancouver are reminded that Stage 3 water restrictions are in effect until further notice.
