It’s been a long wait, but Horin Ramen + Sake is finally open for business in the West End after operating under a soft launch for the past week.

Signage for the Japanese eatery went up months ago, signalling that the new Vancouver eatery was getting ready to open its doors – little did we know it’d be almost a one year wait until we tasted those highly-anticipated eats.

Located at 1226 Robson Street, Horin replaced Fatty Papa, which had been making their signature okonomiyaki, gyoza, and curry since opening in May 2016.

The new ramen spot’s sign boasts “52 years of exquisite tradition form Fukuoka, Japan,” and they serve up features like Fukuoka Tonkotsu Ramen where you can choose the noodle, dashi, spice, and lard level in your dish.

Horin also uses housemade ramen noodles and it’s open Monday to Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm.
