The Honda Celebration of Light (HCOL) brings you fireworks, they bring you head-banging concerts, and now, they’re bringing back an airshow in the skies above English Bay this summer.

HCOL is the largest public event in BC and the longest-running offshore fireworks competition in the world, attracting competitors from all over the world. This year, teams from India, Canada, and Croatia will be lighting up the skies.

For all three days of the festival, top Red Bull Air Race pilot Peter McLeod is coming back to Vancouver to kick off the fireworks festivities with an amazing airshow on July 27, July 31, and August 3 at 7:45 pm each night.

The HCOL promises the show will dazzle, “wow the crowds,” entertain, and thrill audiences.

Pete McLeod is a professional aerobatic pilot from Red Lake, Ontario and an iconic aviation figure in Canada.

He says Vancouver is one of his favourite cities in the world and he’s excited to be back soon.

“It’s been a few years since we surprised the crowd with a new dynamic to the pre-show and I’ve been eager to return ever since.”

It isn’t just Vancouverites who are eagerly anticipating the fireworks and pre-show festivities for another year.

“[Performing at HCOL] is the highlight of my Canadian schedule this summer,” said McLeod.
