Homicide team investigating suspicious death in Richmond home

RCMP were called to a Richmond residence yesterday afternoon where they discovered the body of a deceased individual.

The home is located on Woodhead Road just west of No. 5 Road. Police arrived at the scene at approximately 3:30 p.m.

The death has been deemed suspicious, which led local police to hand over the case to Metro Vancouver’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team. The attack on the individual does not appear to be random.

Few details are available at this time as the investigation is still in its early stages.

It was a busy day for local police. Just 90 minutes before the body was discovered, Richmond RCMP were also called to the city’s public library to respond to reports of a stabbing in the vicinity. A young man with serious injuries was rushed to the hospital.
