Homicide team investigating deadly fight in New Westminster

Metro Vancouver’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been deployed to investigate a deadly altercation between a man and a woman Wednesday evening.

At approximately 6:45 p.m., New Westminster Police officers responded to a serious incident at the 1500 block of 8th Avenue near 15th Avenue.

Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered the body of a deceased woman. A male was also arrested.

The causes and circumstances of the death are not known as the investigation is still in its early stages.
