Home birth drum circle wanted in latest funny Vancouver Craigslist ad

There are some things that just scream Vancouver – yoga, organic tea, environmentalists and alternative medicine. But what about home births and drum circles?

Yes, that’s pretty “Vancouverish” too, and a recent Craigslist ad circulated on Reddit this week proves it.

“Hello Universe,” the ad begins, “We are seeking musicians, drummers, jambe players for our home birth. My child is due in mid-September and we’re welcoming it into our home, surrounded by friends, family and our midwife.”

The couple is looking for five to 20 drummers to form a drum circle in their living room, but not just for entertainment.

“The rhythm and vibe is very important during birth, and this will ensure a smooth transition for the Little One. Drummers will sit around in a circle, backs turned, and play music until the baby is born.”

Oh yeah, and vegan food will be provided.

“Love and light,” the ad ends, “Namaste.”
