Holburn to Re-evaluate Vancouver Ritz-Carlton Development Site

When the Ritz went on the fritz I have to admit I was pissed. Of all the projects we got during the boom years (you know the cookie cutter condos from Concord Pacific) the Ritz-Carlton was the only building aspiring to reach beyond the bland. Hell, even the Shangri-La was an epic fail when it comes to architectural design and creativity. Anyways, I’m hearing that Holburn is in discussions with a few contractors about this project. This all makes sense as it too expensive too leave a hole in the ground.

Time will tell what becomes of the cursed site. Will we see the Ritz? Probably not, however, I’m hoping we get an equally (or hopefully taller) tall office tower out of this. We have enough hotels for the time being with the addition of the Loden, Coast Hotel, Fairmont and of course the Shangri-La.
