A new game that was released on Thursday has got hockey fans across the globe obsessed.

The game, which is called 84-0, is easily accessible to play on cell phones and does not require downloading an app to do so.

The objective of 84-0 is simple. You have five selections to put together the best team possible. Those five picks need to be used to fill all five positions: centre, left wing, right wing, two defencemen, and a goalie.

The app includes every NHL team and several different eras. For example, if you land the 2010s Pittsburgh Penguins, you would most likely select Sidney Crosby as your centreman.

It can get tricky, as some teams in certain eras didn’t have great rosters to choose from. If you wind up with one, you are able to skip either the team or the era. Keep in mind, however, you only have one skip for both categories.

As the name of the game suggests, the goal is to try to build the perfect roster to go 84-0. As soon as your team is put together, you click “simulate season,” and within seconds, the game tells you what your record is.

Just how popular can it be after only launching on Thursday, you ask? Well, according to the game’s official X account, there were over 400,000 seasons played on the first day.
