Air New Zealand’s latest elaborate flight safety video, released two days ago, takes passengers back to Middle-earth for four-minutes.

“The Most Epic Safety Video Ever Made” features eagles, elves, dwarves, hobbits, wizards and creatures of Mordor, as well as cameos from Sylvester McCoy (Radagast the Brown), Dean O’Gorman (Fili), Elijah Wood (a not in character Frodo) and director Peter Jackson.

They guide a pair of Hobbit fans as they board an Air New Zealand plane, with Wood concluding the video at the Shire saying: “May your path always be guided by the light of the stars and may the future bestow upon you all the happiness and adventure our Middle Earth has to offer.”

To date, the new flight safety video has clocked more than 4.5 million hits on YouTube.

This is Air New Zealand’s second Middle-earth themed flight safety video following their first video in 2012 titled “An Unexpected Briefing,” which has garnered over 12 million views on YouTube. Both videos double as advertisements for The Hobbit film trilogy series.

The Battle of the Five Armies, the third and final instalment of The Hobbit‘s film adaptation, will be released in North American theatres on December 17, 2014.
