H&M launching online shopping in Canada for 2016, homeware included

You might want to freeze your credit cards in a block of ice after hearing this news. H&M is not only launching online clothing and accessories shopping for Canadian customers, but their homeware will now be available as well.

You heard right. H&M Home will be available to Canadians online. As it stands, the only Canadian store that carries H&M Home products is the Eaton Centre location in Toronto, which kind of leaves Vancouverites in the dust.

The launch will happen in 2016 at some point, but H&M spokesperson Emily Scarlett wasn’t able to provide us with an exact date, saying it will be later in the year.

But the question on every Canadian H&M lover’s mind is: what took so long to launch online shopping here? They’ve been in Canada for 12 years, after all.

“To be completely open and transparent, we were really focused on opening brick and mortar stores for the past few years that we’ve been in the Canadian marketplace,” Scarlett tells Vancity Buzz. “We had a massive demand from our customers.”

In addition to H&M Home, the online stores will also feature exclusive pieces for certain collections.

Sadly there are no plans to include a home section in any Vancouver H&M stores anytime soon, as they require quite a bit of space.
