Hit the ice for charity at Face Off Against Cancer

Dec 19 2017, 8:44 pm

Tape up your stick and lace up your skates: it’s time to do charity work the Canadian way at Face Off Against Cancer.

Hosted by the Canadian Cancer Society, Face Off Against Cancer is an annual hockey tournament that sees games across Canada raising money in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. Your team can directly support programs and services to increase the quality of life for those fighting cancer, and to cancer research.

Alumni of the Vancouver Canucks are getting in on the fun, with former players like Kirk McLean stopping by to pass the puck around for a good cause. A draft night taking place Friday, March 18 at The Pint Public House will let you pick the alumni player you want on your side when the puck drops.

So far this year’s event has raised $24,266 of the $70,000 goal – and things are just getting started. For more information on how to register your team and lend a hand, visit the Richmond Face Off Against Cancer event page.
