Hip Hop Karaoke celebrates 6 year anniversary tonight at Fortune Sound Club

Hip Hop Karaoke (HHK) in an institution of the local Vancouver rap scene that takes place one Monday night a month at Fortune Sound Club. Tonight, they’re celebrating their 6th anniversary with a huge show featuring all local talent. As usual, the night will be hosted by DJ Flipout and all of the instrumentals will be taken care of by DJ Seko.

If you’ve never been to HHK before, it’s pretty much exactly like any other karaoke night except for the fact that there’s no monitor with song lyrics helping you out. So in order to pull this off, each performer really needs to know their song lyrics by heart. Once they’re up on stage, they get a wireless mic handed to them as they wait for the beat to drop and have the time of their lives.
