For all those times you’ve wished you were hiking instead of at a rave and vice versa, an upcoming event could be your ticket to the best of both worlds.
On July 21, an organization called Party 4 Health is hosting what it’s billing as a Hike Rave.
Calling it a “naturally euphoric social experience you do not want to miss,” organizers say the event will give participants the opportunity t0 “dance your way up a mountain then party while overlooking our beautiful city.”
And damn, if that doesn’t sound like the most Vancouver event ever.
Participants are advised that a number of items will be needed by those who want to get down on the mountain. These items include:
- Good shoes
- A flashlight
- A water bottle
- Your fun-loving self
- A car (if you have one).
While the location is yet to be announced, organizers remind carless Vancouverites that they can still participate with a good ol, fashioned car pool. (Transit buses generally don’t climb mountain roads, you see)
Participants are also reminded to leave no trace, and pack in what they pack out.
Those concerned about wildlife encounters needn’t worry, say organizers. “If you’re scared about bears and mountain lions, we will be bumping music at level 11. They won’t even come close.”
And if they do, organizers said, “it’s because they’re digging the music.”
So there you go.
Seems to us that the only thing missing from this very Vancouver-esque event is a mass yoga session and an avocado toast-fuelled nutrition break.
But hey, we’ll take what we can get.
