This hidden cocktail club is downtown Vancouver's best-kept secret

If you’ve grown tired of spending your weekends out on the town at loud, rowdy clubs or bars, we completely understand. We’re sort of over it too. (Don’t tell anyone.)

And that’s the beauty of this cocktail club; with the lights turned down low, and shrouded in an element of mystery, there’s no better place to head out for a big night.

Prohibition, hidden right in the heart of West Georgia Street, may just be downtown Vancouver’s best-kept secret.

Prohibition

In a throwback to the Roaring Twenties, an age of decadence, glamour, and prosperity, you can check out nightly live music in an intimate, sophisticated, and fun venue reminiscent of the Prohibition era’s speakeasy bars. Enjoy live entertainment house acts such as Alex Maher, Aiden Miller, and the Kollective, followed by one of the best DJs on the West Coast, Prohibition’s Farshad, playing until 3 am, so you can well, literally dance the night away.

With a sleek, ambient interior, located on the basement level of the top city hotel in the country (according to the U.S. and World News Report and Travel and Leisure World’s Best), you’ll feel like you’ve been transported back to the 1920s. Whether you’re enjoying a quiet date night or a night out on the town with a group of friends, you’ll reach a new level of sophistication at Prohibition (strict dress code is enforced, with cocktail attire required).

With innovative cocktails created by the property’s head bartender Robyn Gray and an impressive selection of champagnes, wines, spirits, and craft beers available, make sure you save room for some of the rarest spirits from around the world. Get ready to raise a classy glass.

And if you’re feeling lost, here’s a hint: Look for the green light above the unmarked door on the entrance off Howe Street — it’ll tell you if Prohibition is open.
