Beginning tomorrow, if you spot hundreds of motorcyclists in Metro Vancouver, there’s a reason for it, and it relates to the Hells Angels gang.
The Surrey Police Service issued a media release on Wednesday morning, warning Metro Vancouver residents of a large Outlaw Motorcycle Gang presence between June 12 and June 15, which will be part of a Hells Angels procession.
Although it wasn’t in the original release, Daily Hive inquired about the procession, and we were informed that the event was a funeral for a member who had passed away in March.

SPS officers and police from other neighbouring municipalities will be monitoring the area for what SPS is calling a “very large Hells Angels motorcycle procession.”
The procession is expected to draw over 700 motorcyclists, starting at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday morning in Coquitlam, and will end at a banquet hall in the 12300 block of Patullo Place in Surrey.
“In Surrey, intersections and traffic are expected to experience delays northbound from Highway 1 on Highway 15, Highway 17 to Bridgeview Drive, Bridgeview Drive to King George Boulevard, and King George Boulevard to 120th Street,” SPS said in the release.
Police will be monitoring major intersections to ensure the safety of drivers and pedestrians who may be in the area during the procession. Delays are expected to last until noon as motorcyclists travel on their route.
SPS will also have additional officers working in the city over the weekend, “with special attention paid to restaurants and bars throughout Surrey to prevent any gang-related incidents.”
Coquitlam RCMP informed Daily Hive that it expects a “significant presence” of motorcycles on June 12. It is expected to impact morning traffic in the Maillardville area.
“We encourage morning commuters to plan alternate routes,” Coquitlam RCMP said.
“Police will be deployed in and around Coquitlam throughout the day and evening to ensure road and public safety.”
