4 ways Hellmann’s is bringing mayo madness to help Canada Soccer make it all the way

As the excitement from the world’s largest soccer moment comes to Canada, fans from coast-to-coast are crossing their fingers for the Canucks to take it all the way.

To help bring that luck, Hellmann’s is bringing Canadians many ways to join in on the fun, from new gameday rituals to an exciting burger recipe. Here’s to some mayo magic!

Hellmann’s is bringing the flavour to Canada Soccer as its official Condiments Partner, and with defender for Canada’s Men’s National Team, Alistair Johnson, Canadians are encouraged to sink their teeth into new match-day rituals. 

Inspired by how many of soccer’s most victorious countries prefer eating their fries with mayo, Hellmann’s is here to prove the magic is in the sauce. 

Mayo ritual 

Here in Canada, much of the country prefers dipping their frites in ketchup, outside of Quebec and parts of Eastern Canada. But, according to Hellmann’s research, eight nations that have won the most soccer titles prefer mayo. 

Was mayo the secret sauce? Hellmann’s sure thinks so!

Just think of five-time winner Brazil, who prefer to dip its fries in two popular mayo-based sauces. The first is the classic Molho Rose — a mix of mayonnaise and ketchup, and the iconic maionese verde, a herby garlic mayo sauce. 

Or take it from two-time winner France, aka the likely inventor of mayo, who have been dipping their fries in mayo for centuries.

Canada Soccer Burger 

To help spread that good taste (and maybe some soccer luck), Hellmann’s is bringing fans a new BBQ-season go-to: the Canada Soccer Burger. Created by Chef Matt Basile, it’s made with an all-star lineup of stellar ingredients made to celebrate soccer season beyond the pitch. 

And to keep that excitement going, Canada Soccer House is bringing fans together in Toronto and Vancouver to celebrate with fan experiences. Hellmann’s is teaming up with Matty’s Patty’s in Toronto and BOBs Breakfast or Burgers in Vancouver to serve their own unique versions of the Canada Soccer Burger.
