Why you might see a helicopter flying low over Vancouver today

Hollywood North is abuzz with film and TV productions, and you might see a helicopter whirring in parts of Vancouver today because of it.
Earlier today, the City of Vancouver posted a message on X, warning residents about areas where a low-flying chopper may be spotted.
The City of Vancouver didn’t share specific details about the production, but there are a couple of shoots in and around the city that the helicopter could be associated with.
According to the City, there are three main areas you might see or might have already seen helicopters swirling around:
- Stanley Park and downtown
- Burrard Inlet South to Broadway
- Burrard Street to Clark Drive
The City issued a warning about the helicopter at 5:30 a.m., indicating that it could last for four hours, “weather permitting.”

While the City of Vancouver couldn’t share specific details about the shoot, they did inform Daily Hive that it’s for a TV production, “but beyond that it’s confidential.”
Filming started between 7:15 and 7:45 a.m. this morning, so there are still a couple of hours left.
Several larger budget productions are currently underway in Vancouver, including the latest season of Allegiance, the third season of Tracker, season two of Watson, and a few other notable shoots, such as the Carrie series and Fear Factor.
