“Strava provides motivation and camaraderie, and helps us prove that we’re out there doing what we love to do.”  – Strava

Conforming to the essential principles of Gamification, Strava allows the user to track rides and runs via a smart device.  Users are able to analyze and quantify their performance.  Earning trophies, and badges is an essential feature of the app service.  The heatmap service is used to encourage people to share their activity logs and goals with their friends.
