Health Canada has approved the addition of five home cleaning products to its list of effective disinfectants for use against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.
The federal health agency has been “proactively working” to provide Canadians with information on how to kill the coronavirus effectively on surfaces.
Laboratory testing from American pharmaceutical company SC Johnson says the products listed below were “successful in killing SARS-CoV-2, when used on hard non-porous surfaces as directed.”

The following newly added disinfectants are now available in multiple fragrance varieties, all with properties capable of killing SARS-CoV-2, according to Health Canada:

- Scrubbing Bubbles® Bathroom Disinfectant Bathroom Grime Fighter I Aerosol Spray

- Disinfectant fantastik® Original All Purpose Cleaner I

SC Johnson says it will continue to work with laboratories to provide disinfectants to Canadians to keep them healthy throughout the ongoing pandemic.
