COVID-19 has affected all parts of Canadian society: workplaces, schools, families, government policies, the economy, and perhaps even your bank account as you head into the festive period.

BeHeard explains that young Canadians are often marginalized by reductive stereotypes of who they are, what they think, and what they care about. To get to the heart of the issues, more youth need to be included in important conversations.

Only a few hundred young Canadians currently participate in opinion research panels across the country, speaking for an entire generation of over 10 million Canadians. But decisions are being made now that require all voices to be heard.

The coronavirus pandemic has affected and continues to affect everyone nationwide. As a result, we need to make sure young Canadians are included in the conversations now and in the coming days, weeks, and months — especially as decisions are being made on the current and future COVID-19 recovery plans.
