Hawksworth named best restaurant in Canada

Recently Maclean’s Magazine put out a list of Canada’s 50 best restaurants, 8 of which were from Vancouver (Well one is actually from Whistler). From the list, one restaurant rose to the top and that restaurant is Vancouver’s very own Hawksworth.

Hawksworth is located at the recently renovated Hotel Georgia in downtown Vancouver across from the Vancouver Art Gallery. Since it has opened it’s become a favourite lunch and dinner spot in the city. This recognition will just increase the wait times.

Jacob Richer, food columnist for Maclean’s describe it as:

Indeed, the setting of the Hawksworth Restaurant in the Rosewood Hotel Georgia—which opened without that prefix in 1927—is exceptional. And taking it in, I remembered that Hawksworth had summed up its top-city calibre almost exactly the same way when he had first showed me the site in the fall of 2008. Back then, both his new restaurant and the reborn Hotel Georgia were expected to open about a year later.

Congratulations to Hawksworth on receiving this great honour.
