Hawkers Market is celebrating its one year anniversary on March 29, and as always the market is back with the largest lineup of food yet. Featuring both new and existing food businesses by emerging food entrepreneurs and food trucks.
Some of the new things added to the market this time branch outside of food and focus on capturing the experience, Hawkers Market is pairing up with food and lifestyle bloggers for March 29.
The Artful Desperado and Hawkers Market will be creating an Instagram food styling table. The idea is to photo bomb your experience at the market and take away some really cool photos or post them to instgram. Gaberiel from Artful desperado and Stefane Berube a professional food photographer will be assisting people in their food styling battles and choosing the top photos for prize giveaways and bragging rights.
New food at the market includes some extremely diverse foods, gluten free Brazilian
pao de queijo cheese puffs from Otimo made with GF manioc flour derived from Cassava. A Singaporean hawker stand by Ricky Kan serving up the real deal hawker fare. Holistic nutritionist Amanda Slater will be bringing her soup club to the market where you will be able to buy and try soups but also be able to sign up for the soup club that gets you a new soup every week designed around relieving the stresses of hectic lives with the nourishment of soups.
Hawkers Market, Art Artful Desperado and The Food Gays will be collaborating for a Doughnut Pop up called Electric Jelly. The doughnuts will be yeast raised doughnuts filled with vanilla custard glazed and dipped in your choice of flavours so each doughnut is a custom experience.
Electric Jelly will be right next to the Instagram table so people can quickly photograph their doughnut and devour without wasting too much time.
The lineup for the market is jam packed with food trucks, pop ups, craft beer from 33 Acres serving 33 Acres of Life and 33 Acres of Ocean, Cocktails and Soju tastings from maQ Local Soju. Expect the most jam packed and interactive market yet with over 20 vendors and something to eat for everyone no matter the diet the Hawkers will have you covered.
Also new to the market vendors will all be accepting Square across the market in a new partnership helping our vendors to all accept credit cards and Bitcoin will be accepted at the bar by Vancouver Bitcoin payment startup Hashcore for beer, wine and cocktails if you are into crypto currencies.
As always with Hawkers Market, we suggest skipping breakfast and probably lunch too heading down to the market for a full evening of Vancouvers most amazing food entrepreneurs trying out their wild ideas on the crowds with great cocktails and 33 Acres craft beers.
Tickets are available at hwkrsmrkt.eventbrite.ca for $10/fees online at $15 at the door but don’t expect tickets to last Hawkers Market sells out every time and theres pretty limited quantities of tickets.
