Win a big screen TV and save throughout the year

Hastings is giving away a 65-inch Samsung SMART LED TV this weekend. When you’re there on Saturday, April 25, check out the Hastings Insider Club tent (on the East Side of the ground level). When you sign up for the Hastings Insider Club newsletter, you’ll receive the Hastings Season Pass booklet for free, which will give you over $2,400 in prizes, savings and partner offers throughout the year. The first offer is for the big screen television (so make sure you get your ballot in by Saturday at 6 p.m.).

Dress to impress

Getting dressed up like you’re at the West Coast version of the Kentucky Derby is all part of the experience now at Hastings. Patrons frequent the facilities decked out in Derby-style attire, including fascinators and sundresses for the ladies and fedoras and button ups for the gentlemen. The various food & beverage outlets on all three levels of the track are perfect for groups of all sizes as well as singles looking to mingle.

Admission is free

The racing season runs from April 25 through mid-October mainly on Saturday and Sunday afternoons with 1:50 p.m. start times. The exceptions are Friday Night Live race cards (in August) under the lights (7 p.m. starts) and Holiday Mondays (12:50 p.m.). There is never an admission charge at Hastings and plenty of PNE parking is available at just $10. It’s pretty rare to find professional sports that allow you access free of charge these days.

The amazing view

Hastings Racecourse has been described in the industry as one of the most scenic race track locations in North America. With the North Shore mountains and Burrard Inlet serving as a back-drop, many Vancouverites are surprised when they realize that this beautiful view is right in their own backyard. Each year an estimated 250,000 racing enthusiasts enjoy the breathtaking view at Hastings.

Learn to bet easily

For those fans not accustomed to wagering or perhaps intimidated with the process of betting on a horse, there is a team of Hastings wagering ambassadors patrolling the grounds to offer assistance and expert advice. Learn about the simple Win, Place, Show bets or try to go for the big money with the new Sea-To-Sky Pick 6. At $2 for the minimum bet, it’s worth the investment to learn how.
